You said your not a fan of 4 cylinders. You should do a video on the 69 Saab with the Ford V4 engine and 4 on the tree. I never heard of a v4 till i bought one for $200 in 2001. Ended loving it and the car it self. Of course the previous owner turned it into a convertible.
Thanks man, thats great guide!
Problems of Rich People who dont know what to do with there Money...
My God! I sense a disruption in the fabric of time and space! Two gorgeous classic Porsches in the driveway….parked on the street behind this knowledgeable woman? Two more white Porsches! I loved this video…it’s 0730 and I have an inexplicable desire to eat a gallon of Vanilla Bean ice cream!!

What lovely video plus those gorgeous dolphins!
Absolutely fantastic video . Thank you so much ❤
Did you figure out the delta of repairs vs new boat? Of course Franny's time is incalculable.
We are working on upgrades now. More videos to come.
As new as your boat is, it's doubtful that the turbo heat shield is asbestos. More likely a benign ceramic fiber material..
Interesting.
Great job. Best review I have seen in a long time. Thanks
Wish ya'll the best! Appreciated your 356 videos- helped me a lot!
@heidiandfranny, Pardon me for commenting on a 6-year-old video but I’m having the same problem on my 88’ Porsche 911 Cabriolet. Before jumping into this do you think the repair would be similar? Ps a new subscriber here as I found your video off Rennslist who sells the gear
🤟🏻
That was a fun sail. Glad we could join you two on that part of your adventure.
It was awesome to have you with us! Again soon!
Wow!! That was a beautiful trip! Really amazing footage especially of the dolphins. Some really good shots. I really like the footage from the foredeck going through the channels and bridges.
Thanks. Wasn't it fun? It's hard to believe it's already been a year. Heidi
You are certainly having the summer of your lives......what a cool trip.
I hope soon you will be able to toss the schedule and spend time to enjoy all you see.
Franny did retire a few months ago. That has helped.
@@HeidiandFranny 2 diesel engines , diesel gen set , water maker sail rigging and so much more , retirement with a boat is a job without a paycheck.......
Yes. @@duaneking2081
Franny,,,,,you are so awesome!!!! Thank you sharing all your knowledge. I have learned so much from you. Be well.
Thank You Heidi , Getting ready to do door and window lubrication and this will be such a time saver and possible preventive damage of door card.
A1 JOB
Yay, Go Franny! diving in muddy marina water is not for the faint hearted but sometimes things just have to get done.
Good video I’ve learned a lot
Love your travels! Be safe you two!! Living your BEST lives!!
You’ll be getting tied up late afternoon, to celebrate, I hope you are considering getting yourselves to the Boatyard Bar & Grill for a glass of wine and a crabcake dinner. All killer and no filler!
We like the Boatyard. We will make it there at some point, I am sure!
I missed the live stream again, but still enjoy the videos
Good afternoon Ladies…..hard at work here…..hope your passage is a good one
great help for my challenge...oh, did I mention? I'm 94 yrs. of age.
As a "non-boater" and zero knowledge of maritime, I think the following: If sails are up - sailboat Craft 20' of more - AIS mandatory Should be mandatory before operating any boat. Have an instructional, licensed "official" give a "behind-the-wheel" drive test??? I dunno lol There will ALWAYS be dumb people. That's why "Do Not Eat" is printed on silica packs...
Isn't that funny. The number of time I have wondered if I was not paying attention and put one of those in my mouth. jk.
@@HeidiandFranny bwaaaa hahhahaha
Great session.......you get your comfortable sea legs established and now focusing on ranting about the regs......love it! Safe seas to you both.
This Muffin extraction was a nail biter! Sure, Ozzie would most likely come back out on his own, but who wants to risk him going in further and getting stuck.? I love that your kittie’s well being is always on your mind. 🩵
Yeah. It was not a good day for either of us. Not until he was out.
Considering the amount of traffic, I agree with the training and the location.
James Dean introduced me to the real deals. Ive got one in a Perspex case. 1\32 scale 😢
If its really a real 356, does she have any clue her husband has a $200k 356?
There is no husband in our family, and yes, we are well aware of the value. Yes, we have a clue.
Give me the replica any day
That water was NASTY! Hope Franny didn't get sick. And thanks for the lizard rescue. Over and out :)
She did not get sick. It was gross though...
Love the video! Have had any problems with the 2015 I8 so far? What a gorgeous car!
Thanks. We just replaced the latch on the trunk, but that's about it. We got a small battery (accessory) when we bought it.
GREAT VIDEO. I have done lots of oil changes ( this was my first in a 996 Turbo ) Really well done ! The lil tips were so useful . Torque info is very valuable . I liked & subscribed Thank you
Careful, Putin has Destroyers and Anti-Submarine training off Cuba, no joke..
Our insurance doesn't allow us to go near Cuba.
Heidi, i vote "Yes!" to require ALL boat owners to take a basis competancy test before they can use their boat.
What you've done with this car is just fantastic. It is also a great warning for all potential Ferrari classics buyers. A 308/328 now costs around usd 100 k in good conditions. It probably will not be perfect, so unless a buyer is ready to add usd 100 k more, it's probably better to pass.
100K more for someone to do any maintenance that has been deferred? Perhaps. If the owner could do the deferred themselves, it's not going to be 100K. That's very expensive.
Oh my! I would be having panic attacks! Be strong! Best wishes to y'all!
Hurry back! We’re missing more of you VW bug videos. I hope this finds you as I can’t thank you enough. I have a blue 68 bug that I’ve done so much with, because of you. Enjoy your sail!
I think the better option would be to remove air filters and pour fuel down the carbys .you would be overhead the leads and over loading the battery.
That is crazy dangerous! You can have a carb fire. Too many cars lost to that. I had the starter rebuilt recently and after 60+ years was just fine. The solenoid had gone bad. So it is the switching that did it in and not the running. The battery can handle it. If you want to break it up into a couple segments you can do that but that doubles the cycles on the solenoid and that is the part that failed.
I "feel" Heidi's anxiety! Hope you are feeling better. It's 10:55PM eastern, Wednesday night. I hope it calns down around midnight! I am about 80 miles from Beaufort!
Thank you for sharing the challenging part of this journey! Stay safe, avoid those cargo ships, and we all have fingers crossed for following seas in your soon-ish future!
Thanks so much! The wind needs to learn how to read a forecast 😂
That was the best no nonsense version I've seen on this subject, thank you , Howard UK.
You ladies are awesome, great job on your fixing issues with everything. I really enjoy watching your videos.
How much in repairs have you spent on this boat so far? Seems like something is always going wrong. If you had to do it over, would you buy this particular boat again. If not for Frannies expertise, I don’t think you would.
It has often been said that a boat is a hole in the ocean into which you are constantly throwing $20 bills.
Rod, in all honesty, when it comes to boat expenses, they will be more than you expect. Do we have regrets about our purchase? No. We have the correct boat for us. Did we overpay for our boat? Absolutely. The other side of that comes from the sale of our house in Colorado. We did ok with our house. As far as cost and numbers go, that's like asking me to go through my underwear drawer. I am not ready to divulge that information yet. Maybe someday. We will eventually go through some expected numbers when it comes to boating. If you are not handy, then don't buy a boat. I would not own a boat if it wasn't for Franny. She loves fixing things. Heidi
I think you can say that with any item that needs maintenance. Cars, houses, RVs or boats. They are all wear items. Houses usually appreciate, which generally means a good investment. Boats, RVs and cars are not good investments. You have to put a dollar value on what makes you happy. Many people throw away thousands on travel and pleasure trips. There is no investment there. Travel could be considered a hole in the ocean as well.
You should look into Snuba, they make full face masks and it is low compression air, like Scuba but for shallow diving with a tube to surface unit.
We will probably get a Blu3.
That looks great. Don’t get a full mask, I just did some looking, and it appears they can be dangerous! Has caused deaths apparently!
Cool video - would be interested in how you decided on what type of lines you used for the running rigging replacement and how you sourced them. I appreciate how you usually go through your whole thought process on what you are doing, very helpful and interesting to watch.
